Summary

Manages a sales team within the Clinical Nutrition division in order to achieve sustainable sales growth with existing customers and generate new business in line with agreed business objectives. Contributes to the definition and implementation of the sales strategy while representing Baxter in the market and driving the team towards success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and sharing the strategic direction of the Clinical Nutrition business
  • Prepare, implement and review sales operating plans which identify likely revenue and number growth in accordance with the Clinical Nutrition Business Unit plans
  • Achieve all sales, financial and customer targets in line with the business and personal objectives while managing the sales team on a daily basis
  • Coach, develop, motivate, support and lead the sales team while acting as a role model and supporting company values
  • Lead and manage the account planning process for own area of responsibility
  • Constantly look for ways to improve the sales force efficiency while implementing tools to manage its performance
  • Build long-term relationships with existing and new customers while keeping them fully informed about Baxter products & therapies
  • Ensure customer needs are wholly met guaranteeing customer satisfaction
  • Own customer issues and ensure all parties and team members are kept informed of relevant information, in order to enhance customer loyalty and revenue generation
  • Capture and maintain relevant sales and customer data
  • Promote Baxter Healthcare products, therapies and services to key decision makers
  • Provide input into budgetary and planning processes and monitor performance against budget, taking appropriate action to address any variances
  • Co-operate closely with Marketing, Sales Support and Customer Service in order to reach full customer satisfaction & the set targets
  • Lead the tender management process for all tenders in area of responsibility in order to ensure long-term business growth (where applicable)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred (Life Science, Nursing, Commercial, Medical, …)
  • 10 years operational Sales experience in a healthcare company
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience leading a sales team
  • High level of written and spoken English
  • Computer Skills: Basic knowledge required of Word, Excel, Lotus notes, PowerPoint
  • Ability to apply scientific/clinical knowledge to support the customer
  • Ability to combine a commercial and an intellectual relationship with customer
  • Find customer-adapted solutions
  • Negotiation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Selling skills & techniques
