As a Scientist for Preclinical PK/PD Modelling and Simulation within ‘Drug Discovery Sciences’, you will be an integral part of our multidisciplinary team and drive model-informed decision making in and beyond drug research. You will drive our “learn-and-confirm” mentality and tightly interact with all drug metabolism and pharmacokinetic disciplines within our project teams.

The mission of our Research Department ‘Drug Discovery Sciences’ is to find high quality first-in-class drug candidates. Our ambition is to strongly contribute to breakthrough therapeutic concepts, to provide excellence in drug screening, profiling, and optimization and finally to ensure seamless transition of drug candidates to Development. Join our Modelling & Simulation Team at the company’s largest Research & Development site.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • As a Scientist, you will ensure timely delivery of state-of-the-art M&S approaches throughout drug discovery;
  • You will support our research project teams with regard to pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics (PK/PD) to allow fast data-driven pre-Lead Optimization and Lead Optimization programs (e.g., good study design, human dose prediction);
  • You will represent early Research DMPK disciplines within Research Project Teams;
  • You will drive and create awareness on model-informed drug discovery by peer-reviewed publications as well as scientific presentations.


  • PhD or Master’s degree in a field related to pharmacometrics, applied mathematics, systems biology or similar;
  • In depth understanding of PK/PD Modelling and Simulation, as well as basic understanding of pharmacology- and DMPK-related topics;
  • Relevant experience in PK/PD modelling and simulation;
  • Proven skills in PK, PK/PD, and/or longitudinal disease modelling. Proficiency in (statistical) programming languages (e.g., R) and pharmacometric tools (e.g., Phoenix WinNonlin, NONMEM);
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate/work in multi-disciplinary teams, and to efficiently communicate complex PK/PD analyses.
