Your role at Baxter:

The Medical Manager supports the Medical Director Western Europe (WE) in the development and implementation of the medical affairs vision, mission, strategy and action plan in full alignment with the business plan of the BU and the regional strategy.

The Medical Manager plays a key role in key thought leader communication and collaboration and is central to key strategic activities as evidence generation and dissemination and HCPs training and education.

The Medical Manager is a key partner of several country/regional functions (such as Marketing, Sales, Regulatory Affairs, Patient Access, Compliance and Legal). As such she/he supports the medical director WE to provide medical-scientific and strategic input into Regional strategic plans.

In everything the Medical Manager does he/she puts the patient at the center and acts in the spirit of highest ethical principles.

What are your responsibilities?

• The Medical Manager will provide clinical and technical expertise to the BU cluster team and will have clinical knowledge and provide medical support for all the therapeutic areas across the entire portfolio related to the BU;
• Contributes to the definition and implementation of the scientific strategy of the country BU business in close alignment with the regional strategy;
• Has a Champion role at the regional level on specific therapeutic areas or relevant projects, leading the creation, implementation, and coordination of the regional strategy on that topic;
• Collaborates with the respective Global Therapeutic Area Leaders and clinical development team by reporting back Voice of Customer and market needs;
• Leads the development of key thought leader programs, and ensures the communication and collaboration with relevant stakeholders, including scientific societies or patients’ associations;
• Provides clinical expertise for the creation and implementation of high value-added medical educational programs;
• Ensures the proper implementation of the Evidence generation and dissemination strategy. As a Regional Champion, identifies the evidence gaps and needs on the specific therapeutic area in which he/she is responsible;
• Has extended clinical knowledge of all product lines and offers expertise and guidance for product support for the Marketing & Sales teams, Regulatory Affairs, R&D, Legal, QA and external customers;
• Exchanges and collaborates with the BU Medical Managers of other clusters (Cluster Expert Network).

We are presently seeking people who have:

• MD and/or PhD and/or equally qualified healthcare professional;
• 5 years post graduate experience within the health care industry. Experience in the BU relevant field is preferred;
• Experience in public presentation;
• Experience with literature review (analysis and synthesis);
• Good scientific communication spoken and written both in local language and English;
• Computer literacy and Windows Office tools skills.
