Our ultimate goal is to accelerate and improve decision making in order to identify impactful first-in-class therapies for patients. In Global Computational Biology and Digital Science (GCBDS), we want to identify novel human disease insights through the use of in silico methods combined with disease biology. We aim to transform our Innovation Unit through cutting edge digital sciences.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • In your new role, you are part of our Global Computational Biology and Digital Science (GCBDS) team supporting our therapeutic areas in their effort to provide novel, first-in class therapeutics to improve patient’s health;
  • In our Genomics Laboratory, you are responsible for supporting whole transcriptomics of in vitro, in vivo and ex vivo research studies for various therapeutic areas (inflammation, neuroscience, oncology, cancer immunology, cardiometabolic and respiratory diseases);
  • More specifically, you develop, validate and execute high- and low-throughput Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) library strategies for bulk, single-cell and multi-omic applications;
  • You innovate and establish novel single cell-based sequencing methods to characterize biological processes;
  • The evaluation of new NGS technologies and platforms (e.g. spatial transcriptomics) is also part of your new profile, as well as the identification of promising new concepts in scientific publications.


  • PhD in Genetics, Biology, Biochemistry or a related field with postdoctoral research experience;
  • Several years of research and NGS experience, preferably in the biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical industry;
  • Practical experience in the design, development, validation and execution of genomics assays (e.g. WGS, WES, whole transcriptomics, scRNA-seq or amplicon-seq);
  • Experience with RNA/DNA/protein isolation as well as with cultivation of mammalian cell lines/primary cells from various species;
  • Ability to work independently to design, execute, and interpret experiments and to collaborate with multicultural project teams;
  • Excellent team player with strong time management and organizational skills paired with the ability to communicate across different hierarchies and cultures.
