The role

Genmab is seeking a (Senior) Scientist for the Product Discovery (PD) department, focused on exploring novel Antibody Drug Conjugates (ADC) in oncology. This team leverages Genmab knowledge, antibodies, and state-of-the-art ADC technologies to discover transformative products to treat cancer. With your ADC expertise and deep scientific knowledge, you will guide the development of ground-breaking new medicines from concept to identification of a clinical candidate through the design and execution of cutting-edge research.

Responsibilities

  • As part of the PD department, you are part of a group of strong scientists and research associates with state-of-the-art knowledge of the ADC field;
  • You work closely with other scientists in PD, internal scientists/experts from different functional teams and external parties in project and expert teams on preclinical therapeutic ADC discovery;
  • You supervise one or more research associates and are responsible for the oversight, planning, timely execution, and scientific reporting of multiple parallel projects;
  • You contribute to the discovery of new ADCs by investigating their mechanism of action and activity in vitro and in vivo;
  • You contribute to the preclinical proof of concept of new ADCs;
  • You conduct scientific evaluations to identify novel targets for therapeutic antibodies and novel linker-payloads to select suitable disease indications;
  • You will actively contribute to scientific publications and presentations, support patent applications, and provide the documentation critical to entering the next stages of product development.

Requirements

  • Experience: A PhD with 5-7 years of post-doctoral research experience, including 2-3 years in the industry, specifically in ADC development within oncology;
  • Knowledge: A profound understanding of ADC biology and hands-on experience with lead candidate selection;
  • Skills: Proficiency in functional cellular assays involving tumor cells and ADCs and a foundational grasp of medicinal chemistry for ADC development;
  • Achievements: A track record of scientific excellence, supported by references and external presentations;
  • Attributes: You have a driven, enthusiastic, and goal-oriented mindset, and you have a flair for collaboration across diverse teams. You're known for your 'get things done' attitude and strategic thinking.
