Managing the mRNA production unit. Giving leadership to teams of production leaders, managers, supervisors and operators. Build up and sustain a successful, high performing team. Maintain a culture of empowerment and innovation, trust, high performance and change readiness;
Responsible for delivery of base business and growth initiatives in the mRNA area in a safe, high quality, and compliant manner that delivers value to the customers and Lonza;
Running improvement/innovation projects for cost reduction and throughput increase;
Planning & Supervision of production activities to ensure products are manufactured and delivered safely, timely, cost effective with the required quality;
Ensuring the technical availability of the plant also with respect to regulatory requirements (Safety, cGMP);
Developing department goals and prioritize with respect to overall goals of the segment or business unit;
Representing the manufacturing plant and performance in customers visits, audits and regulatory inspections;
Implement the Lonza culture via openness for change and new ideas, cooperative teamwork and continuous improvement even outside the own area of responsibility;
Ensure proper execution of all people management activities including training, development and retention of associates according to the needs of the production unit.
Key requirements:
Master or Bachelor degree in Biotechnology or other relevant areas;
Extensive experience in a leading position in Biopharma manufacturing;
Strong leadership skills and ability to communicate internally and externally at higher levels;
Recognized expert in the area of GMP and biopharma production of large molecules and deep understanding of bioprocesses and operational excellence to solve problems in a cross-functional environment;
Very good understanding of business and financial processes;
Detail oriented with exceptional organizational skills;
Structured, proactive and collaborative working attitude;
