Scientific Head for Process Development Oligonucleotides (m/f/d)

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be responsible for the design, synthesis, purification and characterization of oligonucleotides as guide RNA;
  • Implement and progress state of the art processes and technologies for oligonucleotide manufacturing;
  • Optimize efficiency and robustness of oligonucleotide manufacturing (e.g. reduce process costs and amounts of waste streams);
  • Develop end-to-end CMC concepts with neighboring functions (e.g. analytical development, product supply);
  • Contribute to product transfers from non-GMP laboratory scale to GMP production scale;
  • Establish close collaboration with key internal and external customers (e.g. Bluerock, AskBio) as well as provide scientific input and guidance to technical staff and external collaboration partners;
  • Contribute to scientific leadership and visibility through presentations and publications;
  • Analysis of competitor and IP situation and development of IP strategy in close collaboration with IP experts.

WHO YOU ARE

  • PhD in the field of organic chemistry combined with a long-term working experience in a relevant field; a postdoctoral experience and/or foregoing industrial experience is appreciated but not mandatory;
  • Profound expertise and proven track record in oligonucleotide synthesis;
  • Excellent technical understanding and visualization capabilities to foresee challenges with regard to process scale-up;
  • Flexibility and ability to build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives;
  • High degree of commitment as well as ability to take action for continuous improvement including motivation of team members;
  • Good communication and presentation skills;
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken; commitment to learn German language is mandatory.
