The job of the Senior Medical Advisor is organized around external and internal focus areas:
A field medical position in charge of communicate clinical evidence in France (potentially other French speaking regions in Europe) to healthcare professionals and other stakeholders in the various medical specialties involved in our complete IO portfolio;
Be the reference expert in EMEA for at least one IO technology part of IO portfolio;
A close collaboration between medical affairs and marketing, market access sales and clinical teams and a full alignment with business;
You report to our EMEA Senior Medical Affairs Manager IO.
Medical and Scientific Affairs expertise in the therapeutic area of IO:
You are recognised by clinicians as expert who share relevant clinical evidence in a scientific and balanced way and therefore enhances company’s scientific image through high-level interactions, presentations and contribution at medical conferences;
You respond to all medical enquiries and requests from the scientific field. You travel, with our without you sales colleagues, to support procedures in the Cath Lab, to congresses and workshops, being one of the faces of Terumo IO in France;
You develop a network of Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) in France in the different specialties involved (Interventional Radiologists, oncologists, organ specialists, …) to maximise opportunities for scientific exchange and for data generation with Terumo’s products with the highest ethical and professional standards;
In addition, you set up and conduct Advisory Boards of Key Opinion Leaders on new and established products, indications and/or therapeutic areas;
You collaborate with our clinical team, monitoring local Investigator Initiated Trial (IIT) and contributing to studies design and providing advice on selection of sites and investigators;
You initiate and develop relationship between the Company and the specialised national Medical Societies operating in the field of Interventional Oncology.
Co-create and lead the implementation of the Medical and Scientific IO strategy:
Obviously, you maintain a comprehensive and current knowledge of IO (review, evaluation and managing of scientific data), you connect with stakeholders and share evidence and build and contribute, together with your EMEA colleagues and your manager, to the implementation of medical strategy for data generation, for data publication and for training.
Lead support to Marketing, Market Access and Sales teams:
You are the medical and clinical expert and the internal reference point for colleagues of the local Sales & Marketing teams and the EMEA Market Access team for the IO therapeutic domain;
You help them by provide strong medical and scientific support to ensure that short and long-term country-specific market access, marketing and business plans are implemented and rolled out;
In addition, you proactively provide medical and scientific expertise and training;
Based on the input from the medical field, you make recommendations to heads of functions, playing a key role in setting local medical, marketing and registration strategy;
You identify and monitor the trends in the medical treatments and advice the company on the long-term direction to take.
You closely follow local regulatory environment in particular for clinical trials and investigator-initiated trials, in collaboration with the QA/RA team in France and EMEA.
You have an advanced science degree with a strong track record of interpretation and synthesis of scientific data. MD, PhD, Pharm D would be a plus. French mother tongue level, and a good working knowledge of English is a must;
In addition, you have 5 years’ experience in Medical affairs in the MedTech industry, of which a minimum of 3 years in Oncology;
Futhermore; you can analyse data, synthesize and communicate findings and provide relevant clinical solutions;
Key is having excellent communication and presentation skills: you love to translate scientific and clinical topics in an easy and understandable way for diverse audiences. You connect as easy with a KOL as with a junior sales representative;
You are a team player and able to collaboratively work with all stakeholders across the organization, working with others to reach result: strong problem-solving skills;
