General Description:

We are looking for a passionate and empathic colleague, who share our passionate interest in fighting cancer and wants to bring innovative haemato-oncological medicines to the Italian market in a different way, challenging the status quo.

Ideally you have experience in Medical Affair, preferentially as Medical Manager or Medical Advisor; previous experiences in haemato-oncology and/or oncology and an existing network of haemato-oncologists and/or oncologists are preferred. Knowledge of the Italian health care system with relationship to access, based on local and regional guidelines is required.

You are committed to engage with key opinions leaders and other experts and professional research organizations to align our internal medical strategy with clinical needs and scientific data gaps. With your knowledge of haemato-oncology and oncology you support healthcare professionals in the treatment of patients suffering from haemato-oncological diseases by providing them the correct and most up-to-date scientific information, omnichannel medical education and other modalities to improve clinical practice.

This position reports to the Associate Medical Director in Italy, who reports to the Senior Medical Director of Italy, based in Milan. Responsibilities:

  • Be internally and externally the medical expert for BeiGene products in hematology. Establish and maintain credible peer-to-peer scientific relationships with HCPS, to ensure appropriate use of Beigene products in established and future indications;
  • Provide education to the medical community on BeiGene products and disease areas of focus, in close collaboration with field medical team and with the Strategic Account Managers;
  • Serve as an internal resource of clinical and scientific information from medical interactions;
  • Provide impactful feedback/information to internal stakeholders on emerging clinical and scientific trends from external interactions to help shape company research, and to ensure the safe and appropriate use of BeiGene products;
  • Contribute to cross-functional implementation and execution of national brand tactics – including digital tactics-, in alignment with national brand plan;
  • Collaborate with marketing in development or localization of promotional materials, ensuring the materials are fully align with the available data and compliance/regulatory requirements;
  • Work cross-functionally in planning and execution of BeiGene participation to national and international congresses, scientific meetings, symposia and workshops;
  • Provide regular scientific training and update on BeiGene products to BeiGene colleagues, ensuring solid preparation about scientific data;
  • Work cross-functionally with market access colleagues to provide balanced and accurate information to payors and governmental institutes;
  • Contribute to or perform therapeutic area/indication research and competitor analysis. Assist in the development and execution of clinically relevant medical meetings such as advisory boards, medical educational activities, symposia,…);
  • Help Medical Affairs team to continue building strong relationships within Global Medical Affairs team;
  • Ensure compliance across all areas to maintain the highest standards and patients focused ethical conduct in line with our values;
  • Respect BeiGene code of conduct and all country specific applicable local laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Life science degree (MD or PhD or equivalent) 3+ years of professional experience;
  • Experienced in the field as Medical Science Liaison or Medical Advisor, Medical Manager or Scientific Training Manager within other biotech/pharmaceutical companies (ideally on a Senior level);
  • Experience in hematology/oncology strongly preferred;
  • Candidates with experience in other related therapeutic areas (i.e. immunology, oncology) may be considered if they demonstrate clear potential to apply their existing skills to onco-hematology;
  • High level of English communication (written and spoken);
  • Interpersonal, organizational, and cross functional collaboration skills;
  • Valid driver’s license and IDs.

  • An expert in understanding of the Italian health care delivery system, including the managed care arena and its impact on patient care, local medical care, and the pharmaceutical industry. Ability to identify the unmet medical, educational, and research needs at a local (& regional) level in the medical community;
  • Flexibility to work with stakeholders and colleagues in omnichannel modality;
  • Highly motivated, solution oriented and a positive attitude.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None.

Computer Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office;
  • Experience with electronic CRM systems is preferred.

Travel:

  • Travels is expected mainly within Italy, for meeting with external stakeholders as well as for national internal meetings;
  • Participation at National and International congresses and events.
