Optimize and implement workflows for laser capture microdissection coupled to mass spectrometry workflows for spatial proteomic applications;
Work together with specialized teams in setting up Machine Learning based image analysis and segmentation methods for spatial proteomics;
Build up and continuously improve analytical workflows for smallest sample amounts by combining microfluidic sample preparation with highest sensitivity liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) to enable the quantitative characterization of protein profiles from e.g. single cells;
Develop the established analytical workflows further, including new MS acquisition methods and sample preparation for various applications that demand highest sensitivity, e.g. cell type specific proteomics, spatial proteomics;
Participate in interdisciplinary teams alongside colleagues and customer scientists to actively contribute to integrated projects;
Constantly improve applied mass spectrometry-based proteomics methodologies to deliver first in class data and insights.

PhD. in Biology, Biochemistry or related subject with good understanding of basic biochemistry and logical reasoning;
Hands-on experience and understanding in the field of mass spectrometry-based proteomics;
Handling of image data in variety of XML formats or comfortable to learn and work with XML formats, microscopy image software tools from Zeiss and Leica platforms and region of interest definition;
Basic coding in R or Python is a plus;
Excellent communication skills and high standard of written work;
Ability to work independently and well-organized in a fast-paced work environment;
Excellent command of the English language, German language skills would be beneficial.
