About the Role

The computational pathology team plays a vital role in the development of safe new medicines. Our team combines traditional and advanced histopathological techniques with cutting edge digital tools to enhance tissue analysis. We focus on integrating computational methods, including image analysis, computer vision, and artificial intelligence, to extract meaningful insights from histological slides.

By merging biological expertise with data science, we aim to optimize pathology workflows, improve reproducibility, and deepen mechanistic understanding of toxicity. The work is carried out in close collaboration with pathologists and laboratory scientists, leveraging digital pathology platforms and custom AI models.

Your Mission

  • As part of the Toxicologic Histopathology team, your mission is to contribute to the development and application of computational tools (including AI models) that support tissue-level toxicological assessments. You will help analyze histological samples using digital methods, enabling the identification of adverse safety effects and desired efficacious effects;
  • You will play a key role in advancing image-based analysis by applying computer vision and AI techniques to histological data. Your work will support the development of safer therapies by improving the precision, efficiency, and reproducibility of toxicologic evaluations;
  • Collaboration with pathologists and scientists will be central to your role, as you help integrate biological insights with computational approaches in a multidisciplinary environment.

Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent) in biomedical sciences, bioinformatics, life sciences engineering, computer science, or a related field;
  • Proficiency/expertise in programming languages such as Python and tools like Conda, OpenCV, PyTorch, and TensorFlow;
  • Fluency in English is required, French is a plus.

Other desirable attributes include:

  • Strong interest in image analysis and the application of AI in biomedical research;
  • Basic experience or strong motivation to learn image analysis platforms (e.g., Visiopharm, QuPath, Fiji/ImageJ);
  • Comfortable working in Windows and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); experience with Linux is a plus;
  • Analytical mindset and eagerness to grow in a multidisciplinary setting;
  • Open-minded, collaborative, and curious about integrating biology with computational science.
