The Scientific Project Leader in Proteomics Screening & Mass Spectrometry:
Leads and structures the different stages of projects. Communicates, coordinates, and clearly conveys objectives, decisions, and action plans to the project team;
This role is part of the Proteomics Screening & Mass Spectrometry group, which focuses on the application of mass spectrometry to the screening of compound libraries, such as protein degraders and covalent or non-covalent inhibitors;
The position requires close collaboration with Team Leaders from other groups involved in project delivery. It also serves as the key interface between clients and project teams.
Missions and responsibilities:
Provide a clear project vision, ensure each team member understands the objectives and their role, anticipate risks, and define mitigation strategies when needed. Develop detailed project plans (tasks, timelines, resources), define roles and responsibilities, monitor progress, and adjust plans as required;
Plan and lead high-throughput proteomics experiments;
Contribute to the development and implementation of new methodologies in the field;
Act as the interface with client project managers or other client representatives to initiate and manage proteomics studies;
Continuously improve mass spectrometry-based proteomics methodologies to deliver best-in-class services;
Interpret and analyze experimental results within their biological context in collaboration with bioinformatics and biostatistics teams;
Stay up to date with scientific and technological advancements in the field;
Prepare study reports and present scientific results to clients;
Ensure the quality and accuracy of scientific results.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
Significant experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or CRO sector, with strong expertise in mass spectrometry-based proteomics;
Knowledge of the application of quantitative proteomics approaches in drug discovery;
Expertise in generating, managing, analyzing, and interpreting proteomics datasets;
Excellent communication and presentation skills, enabling effective collaboration with Evotec teams and clients;
Fluency in English, with the ability to write high-quality scientific documents in English.
Experience and education:
PhD in Proteomics, Biochemistry, or a related field;
More than 3 years of experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical sector;
Experience in project management.
