About the Role

As Medical Lead, PPH&PMED Vaccines CSE/PL within our CSE MCO Medical Team, you'll lead the medical and scientific strategy for the portfolio/therapeutic area, driving evidence generation, shaping external stakeholder engagement, and partnering across functions to deliver meaningful outcomes for patients. Main responsibilities:

  • Lead medical strategy – Own the development and execution of the CSE MCO Medical Roadmap, integrated Medical Action Plan, and integrated Evidence Generation Plan (iEGP), ensuring alignment with global franchise strategy and cross-functional partners, including Brand Teams, Market Access, and Public Affairs.
  • Drive evidence generation – Collaborate with the evidence generation advisor and cross-functional teams to build a robust evidence portfolio supporting products in pre- and peri-launch phases, and contribute to the co-creation of global medical evidence generation plans.
  • Engage external stakeholders – Develop and maintain an in-depth stakeholder engagement plan; build and sustain partnerships with key experts, academic medical centres, professional societies, and healthcare providers to address challenges in patient care and advance scientific education.
  • Oversee data generation – Guide the Medical team in the design and execution of Sanofi-sponsored studies, including Phase 4 post-marketing and observational studies, and provide medical input to integrated evidence generation plans spanning clinical development (Phase 1–3) and post-marketing trials.
  • Support medical operations – Provide medical guidance to internal stakeholders, contribute to pharmacovigilance reporting, and oversee the creation of scientific communication and educational materials for both internal and external audiences.
  • Lead and mentor people – Serve as a role model embodying Sanofi's culture; provide mentorship and guidance to team members responsible for the scientific development of advanced educational materials and presentations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally – Align with field teams, Satellite Country Medical Managers, and global medical teams to ensure coherence across office-based and field-based activities, and serve as the primary point of contact for near-term business and licensing opportunities within the franchise.

About you

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in Medical Affairs, ideally with relevant market segment or therapeutic area experience
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute medical strategies in a complex, cross-functional, and multicultural environment
  • Experience engaging with key external stakeholders, including healthcare providers, opinion leaders, academic institutions, and professional societies
  • Ability to travel up to 20–30% of the time

Education:

  • Doctorate-level education required: MD or equivalent medical degree preferred; PhD or PharmD also considered

Soft and Technical Skills:

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate scientific insights into compelling medical strategies that benefit patients and healthcare professionals
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, influencing, and networking skills; ability to work effectively within cross-functional and multicultural teams
  • Ability to understand and clearly communicate clinical study data, both interventional and observational
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously in a self-directed and structured manner
  • Ability to engage and build long-term partnerships with medical authorities, hospitals, physicians, opinion leaders, and pharmacists
  • Capacity to embrace innovation and incorporate emerging scientific, policy, and access-related trends into medical planning

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in infectious diseases and/or the relevant market segment/franchise, from academia, research, or the pharmaceutical industry
  • Strong understanding of, or ability to rapidly learn, the MCO's healthcare system and local market dynamics
