Biomarker & Precision Medicine Lead

As Biomarker and Precision Medicine Lead within our Research & Development Translational Medicine Unit, you'll drive the development and implementation of decision-enabling translational medicine strategies for our robust Immunology and Inflammation pipeline, with a specific focus on dermatology and/or respiratory diseases.
Main responsibilities:
- Lead the development of comprehensive biomarker and precision medicine strategies across all development phases (Phases 1-4) for Immunology and Inflammation projects with a specific focus on projects in respiratory and dermatologic conditions;
- Identify biomarkers for patient selection, response prediction, target engagement, and clinical outcome correlation;
- Provide scientific, biomarker and precision medicine focused expertise to pre-clinical projects;
- Design and implement biomarker approaches in clinical studies using diverse platforms including omics, bioimaging, and other cutting-edge technologies;
- Translate biological pathways to clinical markers and clinical observations back to biological mechanisms, providing scientific expertise that drives decision-making;
- Lead cross-functional translational medicine teams in a highly matrixed environment, coordinating biomarker identification, assay development, and execution;
- Contribute to clinical study protocols and reports, regulatory documents, and scientific publications;
- Collaborate with global multidisciplinary teams including research scientists, clinical pharmacologists, clinicians, operations, regulatory, and data scientists, as well as external key opinion leaders and research partners.
About you:
- Experience: MD, MD/PhD, or PhD with advanced experience in translational and/or clinical research within the biopharmaceutical industry, working in global, highly matrixed environments;
- Soft and technical skills:
- Demonstrated expertise in immunology and inflammation, preferably with experience in dermatologic or respiratory diseases;
- Strong understanding of biomarker development, implementation in global clinical trials, and drug development processes;
- Experience with various biomarker platforms, technologies, and statistical and bioinformatics methods;
- Proven track record leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects within a highly matrixed environment;
- Excellence in written and verbal communication, with ability to present to diverse audiences;
- Experience with regulatory interactions and scientific publications;
- Experience with bioinformatics and computational methods.
- Education: MD, MD/PhD, or PhD in a relevant scientific field;
- Languages: Fluent English required.
