We are looking for a team-oriented and independent Biologist or Biotechnologist with a strong background in the establishment and characterization of patient-derived cellular models and solid technical expertise (e.g., RNAi/CRISPR, flow cytometry, Western blot, qPCR) to support and enhance our discovery and development process. This position offers a unique opportunity to combine hands-on laboratory work with conceptual scientific development, with full ownership of assigned tasks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Laboratory-based role: approximately 70% wet lab work, 30% data analysis and conceptual input;
- Establishment and maintenance of primary cell cultures;
- Design and execution of complex and technically challenging experiments, including:
- Whole-genome CRISPR screens for target identification;
- Target validation studies;
- Secondary functional assays in pharmacology.
- Biological data interpretation and drawing relevant scientific conclusions;
- Development and implementation of new research methods and protocols based on project needs;
- Continuous literature review and integration of findings into project strategies;
- Independent management of dedicated sub-projects;
- Regular presentation of research results and methodologies in internal meetings and project reviews.
YOUR BACKGROUND
- MSc in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or related field with at least 2 years of experience in academia or industry, or a PhD degree;
- Previous experience in cancer biology is highly desirable;
- Proven experience in developing 2D and 3D cell-based assays;
- Hands-on expertise in mammalian cell culture, with experience in patient-derived and/or organoid models considered a plus, and common molecular biology techniques:
- ELISA, Western blot, qPCR, flow cytometry;
- Cytotoxicity and proliferation assays;
- Evaluation of drug synergy.
- Experience with medium-throughput cell-based assays in microplate format;
- Proficiency in data analysis software such as GraphPad Prism, Excel, FlowJo;
- Experience with primary cell cultures, biologics activity testing, and gene silencing/knock-out techniques (RNAi and/or CRISPR) is a plus;
- Strong analytical thinking, literature research skills, and ability to work independently;
- Eagerness to learn and apply new experimental methods;
- Good command of written and spoken English.
