The Team

The role will lead Medical Affairs across the LCM cluster, focusing on improving patient outcomes by consistently providing superior value to all of our stakeholders and driving the generation and communication of world class medical evidence. You will lead impactful and innovative Medical Plans for the ongoing launch of rezafungin in invasive fungal disease, ensuring strong alignment and driving high and consistent performance across all countries.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for LCM medical and leadership, ensuring a focus on medical excellence in the development and execution of Anti-Infective and Subsitol Medical Plans that deliver enhanced patient outcomes;
  • Coach and support the Country Medical Advisors with a focus on development of talent and key capabilities;
  • Provide Medical governance ensuring all our activities are in the best interests of patients and fully compliant with applicable Laws, Regulations and Codes of Practice;
  • Partner seamlessly with the Global Medical Anti-Infective and Subsitol team to ensure that insight generation, data generation and scientific communications across the Clusters are aligned and in line with overall global Therapy Area strategy;
  • Collaborate closely with the Global Pain and Established Brands teams to ensure appropriate reactive support for the legacy portfolio across all three countries/regions (Pain, Respiratory etc.);
  • Closely manage the Cluster Medical budgets;
  • Work closely with Global Medical Operations to ensure that Global medical systems and processes are fully embedded in the Clusters;
  • Build a Speciality Care culture based on patient centricity, deep scientific knowledge and strong external partnerships where Mundipharma is seen as a “scientific partner of choice”;
  • As a core strategic member of the Medical Affairs Leadership Team, contribute to the development of the worldwide Medical Affairs strategy and support the ongoing evolution of the function as a valued strategic business partner.

External engagement

  • Build and maintain legitimate scientific collaborations with key external experts, institutions and medical societies and other relevant groups;
  • Ensure strong oversight for all patient engagement activities, such as collaborations with patient advocacy groups;
  • Support the local CMDs in liaising with competitor companies to resolve any disputes regarding any activities.

Provide Medical expertise to cross-functional teams

  • Provide appropriate support, advice and guidance on Scientific and Medical matters in Anti-Infectives (such as strategies, tactics, promotional and non-promotional activities, scientific concepts etc.);
  • Partner closely with the Cluster GMs for LCM to ensure seamless execution of all relevant initiatives;
  • Liaise with Regulatory Affairs, Drug Safety and R&D to ensure a seamless and aligned approach within Scientific Affairs;
  • Ensure oversight for the development, review and approval of promotional and non-promotional materials/activities across the Clusters;
  • Collaborate with the legal and compliance teams to ensure all country activities fully meet company standards.

Qualifications

  • MD or equivalent.
  • 12+ years Medical Affairs (including at least 3–5 years as a Country Medical Director in a major market);
  • 3+ years Clinical Practice;
  • Clinical and/or Industry experience in Anti-Infectives (preferred);
  • Fluency (written and spoken) in English (mandatory);
  • Knowledge in the analgesic and pain therapeutic areas. Knowledge in the substitution therapy is a plus;
  • Good knowledge and understanding of compliance within the scope of Medical Affairs activities;
  • Extensive “above country” experience leading Medical Affairs teams across different markets;
  • Successful launch experience in Specialty Care and/or Rare Disease;
  • Track record of building strong scientific partnerships with Key External Experts;
  • Extensive experience leading Field Medical teams, building capabilities and scientific engagement skills;
  • Deep expertise in setting and monitoring country team and individual objectives, KPIs and metrics to drive performance in line with Medical and Brand strategy;
  • Track record of excellence in cross functional working, especially with colleagues in Commercial, Market Access and R&D;
  • Clinical Development/Operations experience.
