About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Scientist to join our antibody development team within Advanced Technologies - part of Pathology R&D in Agilent’s Diagnostics and Genomics Group. You will play a key role in the design and development of immunohistochemical (IHC) assays and in situ hybridization (ISH) for in vitro diagnostics, working cross-functionally with scientists, laboratory technicians, production and external experts. You will be part of a highly experienced team whose key responsibility is interpretation of immune staining on normal and abnormal tissue samples and adjusting protocols/assays to achieve the optimal staining quality. As the primary focus will be on microscopic evaluation of IHC stained human tissue samples, a strong background in histology is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate performance characteristics of IHC stains and contribute to protocol optimization;
- Develop and implement efficient methods/processes to ensure high-quality antibodies and assays;
- Plan, execute and document reagent development activities, including writing study reports;
- Collaborate as a subject matter contributor in project teams; engage with external experts, pathologists, hospitals and quality organizations;
- Provide input to IP submissions and support technology scouting;
- Transfer R&D knowledge into production process and QC test method validation;
- Drive improvements based on learnings and act as a role model for good laboratory and documentation practices.
Qualifications
Required
- Master’s or PhD in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Human Biology or equivalent;
- Proficiency with immunological methods (e.g., IHC, ISH) and relevant analytics and interpretations;
- Strong knowledge of normal and neoplastic tissue histology/morphology;
- Solid documentation skills;
- Full professional proficiency in English (Danish not required).
Preferred
- Experience with immunohistochemistry protocol development;
- Experience with antigen design and/or phage display;
- Experience with ISH stains;
- Experience in academic, pharmaceutical or biotechnology settings.
