About the Role

The Global Medical Director for Oncology will serve as the strategic medical leader for Ipsen's flagship oncology asset.

This role is pivotal in driving the global medical affairs strategy, ensuring alignment with cross-functional teams, and supporting the product's lifecycle management across multiple indications, including prostate cancer, central precocious puberty (CPP), and breast cancer.

You will be responsible for developing and executing integrated evidence generation plans, engaging with key opinion leaders (KOLs), and ensuring the dissemination of scientific information to support asset’s global footprint.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Planning

  • Develop and implement the global medical affairs asset’s strategy, aligning with the overall brand objectives and lifecycle plans.

Evidence Generation & Data Dissemination

  • Oversee the design and execution of global and regional medical studies, including real-world evidence (RWE) and investigator-initiated studies (IIS).

Stakeholder Engagement & Scientific Communication

  • Establish and maintain relationships with global KOLs, academic institutions, and professional societies to gather insights and foster collaborations.
  • Plan and execute scientific advisory boards, symposia, and educational events to support asset’s scientific narrative.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with global and regional medical affairs teams, marketing, regulatory affairs, and market access to ensure cohesive strategy execution.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure all medical activities comply with internal policies, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and applicable regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Advanced clinical/scientific degree MD, PhD, or PharmD (or equivalent scientific/clinical training).
  • Extensive experience in Oncology.
  • Extensive experience in global medical affairs within the biopharmaceutical industry, including substantial involvement in late-phase development, global medical planning, and lifecycle management.
  • Exceptional scientific communication communication and influencing skills.
