As a Medical Scientific Liaison (South/East of England) – Rare Nephrology, you will be the key scientific expert in the field, engaging with healthcare professionals across the UK and Ireland. Your role is to provide non-promotional medical support, build strong relationships with key opinion leaders, and gather insights to shape medical strategy. Working cross-functionally, you’ll support medical education, clinical projects, and ensure compliance with industry regulations. This is a field-based position, offering the opportunity to make a real impact in rare nephrology while driving scientific exchange and improving patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the primary field-based scientific expert in rare nephrology, engaging with HCPs and sharing the latest medical insights.
Build and maintain trusted relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), scientific experts, and other key medical stakeholders (75% of activities will be external-facing).
Provide medical education, gather real-world insights, and share intelligence with cross-functional teams to drive strategy.
Work closely with internal teams (medical, commercial, patient access, regulatory, and more) to align medical activities with business objectives.
Deliver training to commercial and field teams, ensuring scientific accuracy and compliance with industry regulations.
Contribute to phase 3 and 4 studies, investigator-sponsored research, and post-authorisation studies in collaboration with the Senior Medical Advisor.
Ensure all interactions and materials comply with ABPI/IPHA guidelines and internal regulatory standards.

Key Qualifications

University degree in medical sciences, pharmacy, or a related field (PhD preferred).
Proven experience as an MSL in the UK, with a track record of engaging KOLs.
Deep understanding of UK/Ireland compliance and codes of practice.
Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex science for different audiences.
Highly developed interpersonal and networking skills, both internally and externally.
Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively.
Highest level of integrity and commitment to compliance, ethics, and company values.
Eligible to work in the UK.
Full UK driving license.
Ability to travel 3-4 days per week.
Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM systems.
