Job Description

Moving mountains together – as Post-Doc/Senior Scientist I - Drug Product Design and Development (all genders) (24 months temporary/full-time)

With a lot of experience and even more passion, you will be joining our team in Small Molecule CMC Development. We are seeking a highly motivated, talented, and creative scientist with experience and expertise in oral drug delivery who will develop manufacture and test novel formulations for targeted release in the human GI tract.

This means

• Research and Development: Conduct research on the development of innovative coatings for solid dosage forms that enable targeted drug release in specific regions of the human GI tract.
• Experimental Design and Testing: Design, execute, and analyze experiments to test the effectiveness of coating formulations under various physiological conditions mimicking the human GI tract.
• Collaboration: Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to integrate findings and improve formulation performance.
• Data Analysis and Interpretation: Utilize advanced analytical techniques including AI/ML models to characterize coating properties and interpret data to optimize formulations for targeted release.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive and precise records of research findings, prepare patents and manuscripts for publication in scientific journals as well as contribute to scientific exchange in the global AbbVie scientific community.

Qualifications

• Educational Background: Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field with a focus on pharmaceutical technology or biopharmaceutics.
• Technical Expertise: Demonstrated experience in pharmaceutical processing including, coating technologies, and/or targeted drug delivery systems. Familiarity with analytical techniques such as spectroscopy, microscopy, and chromatography.
• Research Experience: Proven track record of conducting high-quality research, including experience with experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation.
• Problem-Solving Abilities: Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to innovate and develop new approaches to challenges in pharmaceutical development.
• Collaborative Skills: Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment and contribute to collaborative research projects.
• Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to publish and present scientific results.
