Scientist - Delivery & Formulation for mRNA Therapeutics & Vaccines

The position will involve working as part of an interdisciplinary team with the aim of developing the therapeutic potential of RNA. Within this remit, you will focus on addressing formulation issues related to this class of medicines.

Your Responsibilities:

Planning and supporting projects to develop RNA delivery technology;
Involved in development, formulation, characterization, and screening of novel mRNA delivery systems;
Ideation and design of novel lipid structures as components of lipid nanoparticle (LNP) delivery vehicles;
Supervision of technicians and research associates;
Preparing presentations and reports and presenting results to appropriate target groups.

Your Qualifications:

Doctorate in natural sciences with a sound knowledge of the specialist aspects and methods in organic chemistry or pharmaceutical sciences;
Experience in nanoparticle characterization techniques (DLS, zeta potential, chromatography) and knowledge of structural biology and protein and nucleic acid characterization tools/techniques (gel electrophoresis, etc.) are mandatory;
Academic experience (PhD/PhD + Post-doctoral studies) is a must-have. Industry experience is a plus;
Excellent theoretical and practical knowledge of lipid-based delivery systems;
Experience in lipid chemistry and design;
Experienced in conducting in-vitro and in-vivo assays, as well as data interpretation;
Ideally background in immunology and immunotherapy;
Interdisciplinary thinking and a willingness to embrace new subject areas;
High level of self-motivation with the ability to work independently and in a structured manner;
Troubleshooter and out-of-the box thinker with capability to work with challenging timelines in a hectic biotech environment;
Good team player with excellent communication skills;
Fluency in English.
