Role & Function

The Senior Director Medical Excellence is responsible for maintaining and further develop a medical excellence platform supporting all Sobi therapeutic areas aiming to further align, streamline and improve ways of working in global Medical Affairs and Clinical development (MACD), including Medical Information, Knowledge management, ISS Management, KOL management & interactions and Managed Access Programs (MAP). The Senior Director Medical Excellence sits on the MACD Leadership team and provides global strategic input across therapeutic areas and ensures in close collaboration with the Head of MACD, Medicine Development Leaders, Medical Program Leads and other MACD functional heads, strategic and tactical alignment with the country medical directors.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and build Medical Excellence platform for all therapeutic areas and improve ways of working for:
  • Global Medical Information & Knowledge Management
  • Global Congress, Event and KOL Management
  • ISS Management
  • Managed Access Programs

Qualifications

Education/Learning Experience/Work Experience

• PhD in medicine or life sciences or MD with a minimum of 8 years’ experience within Medical Affairs
• Extensive experience in building medical excellence platforms
• Extensive experience of Managing compassionate use/managed access programs a plus
• Experience from a head quarter position in a Global pharmaceutical company

Skills/Knowledge/Languages

• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
• Excellent project management skills
• Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills
• Demonstrated skills leading and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and optimizing contribution of team members
