This role will be responsible for the development and execution of all local Marketing & Operational plans, including analytical, activities in the UK & Ireland, with immediate focus on driving the launch and overall management of Amyloidosis portfolio, accelerating market penetration of our Porphyria & PH1 products.

The Marketing Director will be reporting to the General Manager and line manage the marketing team.

This person will:

  • Lead development of UK & Ireland Strategic and tactical plans, including the tailoring of global & Regional strategies to the UK & Ireland market:
  • Drive and track focused execution of cross-functional tactics;
  • Share learnings and best practices across European countries.
  • The role will support the General Manager in cross-functional UK & Ireland activities. They will ensure excellent alignment and communications from the UK & Ireland team to the regional team, and that the regional team has the necessary insights into country specifics to provide optimal support. The Marketing Director will also lead the development and execution of the UK & Ireland strategic & tactical plans (participating in regional tactics as appropriate).

Summary of Key Responsibilities

  • Leads development of UK & Ireland Strategic and tactical plans. Including the planning and tracking of commercial spent investment in line with plan.
  • Leads development of UK & Ireland launch plans. Including pre-launch and post-launch tracking of agreed KPIs to allow early course correction and ensure execution of key tactics
  • Provide high quality input to Market Access plans to support the fastest and broadest access to Alnylam medicines
  • Lead & Manage the marketing team, including ensuring teams have clear roles, responsibilities and development plans.
  • Support on the execution of educational and promotional events via the Sales Force
  • Manages agencies/vendors in implementing the tactical plans e.g. local marketing material, congress, educational events etc.
  • Maintain a highly efficient working relationship with cross-functional colleagues
  • Support the build and execution of Sales Force Training curriculum in close collaboration with the Sales Lead & regional Training support
  • Builds sustainable relationships with healthcare stakeholders, functions as main partner for local customers and local/ international KOLs
  • Contributes to the development of the European strategic plan and annual tactical plans
  • Responsible for managing the medical and regulatory review of all training, commercial and marketing documentation
  • In close collaboration with the regional product teams, ensure deep local market and stakeholder insights to inform local tailoring of the strategy and tactics and to help inform the global/regional strategy
  • Operates on daily basis in a compliant manner with local regulatory requirements
  • Support the Business Operations Lead & GM in patient triangulation and forecasting
  • Be a member of the Medical Access Commercial leadership Team

Qualifications

  • Life Science degree, Business degree a plus.
  • Previous pharmaceutical marketing and operational experience, ideally in the rare disease arena
  • Experience leading cross functional teams.
  • Experience leading a team is essential
  • Hospital marketing management experience preferred in cardiology and or neurology
  • Fluency in English is essential.
