The Associate Manager, Medical Writer will support the Professional Education activities through scientific content creation and input and will be key in maintaining high level for the knowledge in valvular disease management in the SURGICAL business-unit.

The candidate will be:

  • Responsible for telling a scientific story in unique and effective ways by creating the scientific content related to the SURGICAL Professional Education activities. In this role, the candidate will actively prepare a wide variety of scientific content in the field of valvular disorder such as:
    • peer-reviewed publications summaries and analysis;
    • Congresses and Edwards events highlights;
    • Interviews with HCPs related to publications, congress activities and Edwards events;
    • e-learning modules.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge in valvular disease management for the SURGICAL business-unit in cooperation with the Medical Intelligence Surgical Group;
  • Support the Professional Education Associate Manager in building the agenda of the Professional Education events by providing input on the latest key publications and in data checking of speaker slides;
  • Support the Digital Associate Manager in the maintenance of the online content publication calendar;
  • Organize the scientific content approval on a timely manner;
  • Ensure that the company remains compliant with regulatory rules in all circumstances. Create fairly balanced scientific content and respect approval process within the company.

Education Level:

  • Ph.D. Degree or equivalent in Life Sciences;
  • Master Degree in Life Sciences + 2 years experience in medical communication, pharmaceutical and/or healthcare industry or academia.

Required Skills:

  • A university degree in health or life sciences or equivalent, preferably a PhD;
  • Ability to communicate scientific or medical information in a clear and concise manner;
  • Experience in scientific writing/publication is a plus. Good knowledge of the healthcare industry (Pharma, Biotech, Medtech);
  • Familiarity with scientific search engines including PubMed and Google Scholar. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat and Social Media Channels;
  • Advanced English knowledge, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Very good knowledge of English grammar with a familiarity with formal medical writing styles;
  • Exceptional ability to plan, drive and coordinate complex medical writing projects in collaboration with many stakeholders;
  • Ability to work independently autonomously in a structured, proactive way with a quality mindset;
  • Ability to incorporate data, visuals, and narrative appropriately into a compelling story to support the project objectives;
  • Excellent time-management skills to deliver assignments in a fast-paced, highly deadline-driven environment;
  • Superior interpersonal skills to facilitate interaction with internal team.
