Who we are:
DyNAbind GmbH is a biotechnology company located in Dresden, Germany. We offer products and services around DNA-Encoded Library technologies. This is a drug screening platform based on simultaneous screening of huge numbers of small organic molecules – each of which is tagged with a small piece of DNA which acts as an identifying barcode.
Our company was founded in 2017, and though we’re active worldwide with customers from big pharma, biotechnology companies and elite academic institutions, we’ve maintained our startup spirit. What the position entails:
We’re looking for support and new visions for both the growth and maintenance of our DNA- Encoded Library collection, as well as hit compound resynthesis. Specific responsibilities include:
- Synthesis and purification of small organic compounds on- and off-DNA;
- Scouting and evaluation of new chemical synthesis strategies for DNA-Encoded Library design;
- Development and documentation of new synthesis strategies and methods;
- Scouting and evaluation of new compound purification technologies;
- Coordinating and working within a team to organize and track synthesis projects;
- Potential leadership of junior scientists or working students;
- Direct communication with senior management for tracking project status and priorities;
- Cross-disciplinary scientific discussion across project teams;
- Potential work and direct communication with external partners.
Your profile:
- A successfully completed PhD or other doctoral degree in organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry or a strongly related field;
- Previous industrial experience is desirable but not strictly necessary;
- Significant experience in small molecule organic synthesis and purification;
- Understanding of concepts of DNA-compatible chemistry;
- Knowledge of biochemistry and/or medicinal chemistry is preferred;
- Fluent English language skill. Competency in German or other languages is desirable but not necessary;
- Creativity, flexibility, good communication skills and the ability to work well both independently and in a team.
