Tasks & responsibilities

  • As Director Quality Control VCD, you act as Center of Competence for Virus Testing/Virus safety within our global Bio Business Unit (BioBU);
  • In your new role, you define and implement the strategic roadmap for virus and Mycoplasma testing within our global Bio Business Unit;
  • You are accountable for efficient and state-of-the-art testing of raw materials, excipients, cell banks, process intermediates and drug substance in accordance with applicable regulations, compendia, guidelines and Biopharma business requirements;
  • The development of innovative rapid methods in Mycoplasma and Virus testing and detection including transfer to other BioBU sites is one of your key tasks;
  • Furthermore, you are responsible for scientifically adequate and efficient implementation and validation of these Methods.


  • Doctoral degree (e.g. PhD, MD) with major focus on Virology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology and/or Biopharmaceuticals with longstanding experience in pharmaceutical industry or in authorities;
  • Proven leadership experiences, experience in quality control or analytical departments, management of inspections, negotiation skills with authorities and Clients;
  • In depth knowledge of GxP and regulatory requirements;
  • Ability to organize and manage complex, cross-functional projects and programs;
  • Excellent service-oriented behavior towards international customers;
  • Intercultural competence;
  • Excellent communication skills in English to support the divisional role.
